Industrial manufacturing & automated production processes Depending on Shift salary will be between £44,500 – £54,500 per annum

Based in Exeter

Our client is a well-known manufacturing business supplying to top tier OEMs around the world. You will be working on a large variety of equipment from overhead crane systems, ovens/furnaces, CNC machinery and automated production lines (and much more!). Our client need a Maintenance Engineer to support one of

their shift rotations which will be listed below (there is an expectation for the engineer to help cover other shifts time to time but please note, advance notice will be given).

Requirements needed:

  • HNC or HND, or Engineering apprenticeship with a minimum level 3 qualification, BTEC/NVQ/City and Guilds or equivalent.
  • Mechanical or Electrical bias welcome
  • Competent in reading electrical & mechanical diagrams and fault-finding control panels.
  • Ability to pass medical which includes assessments for working at height and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work proactively to a high standard using your own initiative as part of the shift patterns including some lone working.
  • Computer literate with basic office software experience.
  • Resilient, resourceful with good judgement and decision-making skills.

Shifts available

  • 6am – 2pm shift
  • 2pm -10pm shift
  • 10pm -6am shift
  • Double day shift (6am – 2pm & 2pm – 10pm)
  • 3 shift Pattern (6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm & 10pm – 6am)
  • Continental day shift (6am – 6pm) – 5 on 2 off in week 1 and then 2 on 5 off in week 2 then repeat
  • Continental day / night shift (6am – 6pm & 6pm – 6am) – 5 on 2 off in week 1 and then 2 on 5 off in week 2 then repeat
  • Continental night shift (6pm – 6am) – 5 on 2 off in week 1 and then 2 on 5 off in week 2 then repeat

Job role:

  • Minimize production downtime by trouble shooting breakdowns and preventing reoccurrences.
  • Working with electrical and mechanical drawings and documentation undertake fault finding and modification of plant and equipment. Using a Maintenance Management System carry out

Preventative/ planned maintenance work.

  • Help identify & support improvements to increase reliability of equipment and reduce reoccurring faults.
  • Ensure that all Company policies relating to EHS are followed.
  • Maintain and enhance job knowledge through training.
  • Required to perform electrical and mechanical work, including fabrication, welding and some small electrical installation work as required.
