Full time, Permanent, Day shift
Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (flexible start and finish) 37.5-hour week paid for 40 hours (paid lunch break)
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum North Baddesley
Main responsibilities
- Operate the foundry die casting furnaces to heat aluminium ingots.
- Measure and maintain temperature of the furnaces.
- Treat molten aluminium through addition of additives and flux.
- Inspect die tooling for suitability for manufacture, cleaning and preparing as required.
- Heat required die tooling to required temperatures prior to manufacture.
- Transfer molten metal into preprepared die tooling through use of handheld ladles.
- Use site MRP system to track specific job requirements, (pouring temperatures, pour speeds, etc), and to book off quantities of castings manufactured.
- Prepare aluminium dabs and process these through the spectrometer for composition analysis, monitoring conformance of the results.
- Carry out tasks as assigned by the Foundry management.
- Maintain adherence to the production schedule.
- Continuously ensure good working order of all tools, equipment, patterns, lighting, and premises.
- Responsible for ensuring all correct PPE is used for each relevant task.
- Maintain and ensure good housekeeping and organisation of the working areas.
- Escalate any concerns or queries directly to the Foundry management team.
- Participate in any quality investigations resulting from non-conforming product or processes.
