As the Senior Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation by developing strategic operational plans, implementing sustainable practices, and leading top-level HR initiatives. From streamlining processes to minimising environmental impact and nurturing talent, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business and contribute to our overall success.

You are a strategic thinker with a track record of driving operational excellence, promoting sustainability, and cultivating a high-performing workforce. You have experience of working with Senior Management Team to devise and implement new processes, systems and manage cross departmental projects to increase organisational effectiveness and productivity.

Business Operations

  • Support on developing yearly strategy, setting company wide and departmental OKRs and team targets
  • Lead on designing processes and systems to not only support the execution of the strategy but also increase productivity and effectiveness of the business as a whole
  • Support the Account and Delivery team on RFPs and tender when necessary
  • Be responsible for company wide IT, security and legal compliance and support with implementation of Health and Safety
  • Maintenance of company systems i.e. Hubspot, Scoro, Hibob, Google
  • Work with head of department to develop and analyse reporting of key data points to enable Senior Management to plan and forecast
  • Work with Finance on developing departmental budgets
  • Lead management meetings including setting agendas and managing follow up actions

Sustainability

  • Using understanding of sustainability in the context of the agency, lead the implementation of sustainability (i.e. ISO accreditations and BCORP) into day to day operations
  • Develop the strategy for sustainability across the business, with support from the Sustainability Coordinator
  • Be a part of Team Green (an internal sustainability team) to ensure that sustainability tasks are being carried out in line with strategy
  • Provide support and sign off on day-to-day sustainability tasks

Human Resources

  • Lead on yearly appraisals, ensuring that the process is managed effectively
  • Be responsible for ensuring the company policies and handbook are up to date and rolled out among the team
  • Support Managers and Heads of Departments with employee relations issues
  • Support with recruitment, creating job specs, managing external recruiters and supporting internal hiring managers with process
  • Support with developing training materials and programmes for the team alongside Heads of Departments
  • Manage HR system (HiBob)
  • Optimise onboarding processes

Management

  • Management of the Business Operations team
  • Ensuring that 1-1s are carried out effectively and personal development plans are achieved
  • Support and mentor team to reach individual targets and personal goals

Leadership

Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, drive change, and achieve results through effective leadership.

  • Strategic Planning: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic operational plans aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across departments.
  • Sustainability Knowledge: Understanding of sustainability principles and practices, with the ability to develop and implement initiatives to minimise environmental impact and promote social responsibility.
  • HR Management: Experience in top-level HR functions such as talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Change Management: Proven track record in leading organisational change initiatives and managing transitions effectively.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to evolving business needs and priorities.

SKILLS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role at a senior level
  • Previous experience of working in the marketing and media industry
  • Demonstrated track record of success in driving operational excellence, sustainability initiatives, and HR strategies.
  • Experience in leading teams, managing budgets, and implementing process improvements.
  • Previous experience in industries with a focus on sustainability and social responsibility is a plus.
