A leading environmental services consultancy are looking to recruit for multiple Ecology Consultants and Senior Ecologists as they embark on a new recruitment drive. This is an exciting opportunity as it will be a crucial role within the business supporting a variety of organisations and projects within the private sector on all things ecology where help is needed to provide the insights, expertise and solutions required to support the delivery and growth of projects whilst mitigating risks.

Ecologist / Ecology Consultant

Ideal candidate background

  • Good ecological field skills, covering a variety of protected species and habitats
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject
  • Qualifying membership of CIEEM (or higher)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of the Defra Biodiversity Metric and UK Habitat Classification
  • Able to write clear and concise technical reports in line with CIEEM guidelines
  • Experience as an Ecology Consultant or Senior Ecologist working within a terrestrial field

Ecologist / Ecology Consultant

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking a variety of habitat surveys / UK Habs Surveys
  • Undertaking surveys for legally protected species
  • Producing a range of ecological reports to a high standard
  • Liaising with clients, professional advisors, contractors and the general public
  • Project Management
