Our esteemed client, a prominent industrial manufacturer based in Redditch and known for producing a diverse range of metallic products, is on the lookout for a dedicated Machining Operative to join their expanding team. This role is pivotal to ensuring the precision, quality, and efficiency of their advanced manufacturing processes.

Shift Patterns & Compensation:

  • Monday to Thursday (07:30am – 4:30pm) Friday (07:30am – 12:30pm)
  • £13.47 p/hr (overtime available at 1.3x)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. CNC Milling, Turning, and 5-axis Machine Operation:
    • Skilfully operate CNC machinery, with a familiarity in Fanuc or Mazatrol controls being a plus.
    • Set up fixtures, tooling, and input programs into machines.
    • Strictly adhere to established operating procedures to deliver top-quality components.
  2. Quality Control & Inspection:
    • Conduct rigorous quality checks, ensuring components align with the highest standards.
    • Utilise measuring tools and equipment to validate product specifications.
  3. Engineering Drawings:
    • Accurately read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and schematics.
    • Seamlessly translate drawing guidelines into machining tasks to guarantee component precision.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Actively participate in initiatives aimed at process optimisation.
    • Work collaboratively with team members to refine machining processes and elevate production efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Established background as a machining operative with metal components.
  • Proficiency with CNC operations, spanning milling or turning or 5-axis machinery.
  • Prior experience with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls is beneficial.
  • Ability to adeptly read and interpret engineering drawings.
