France (Home & Field-Based) | Full-Time | Travel Required
€57,000 – €67,000 + car + bonus + great package
A leading mechanical solutions component manufacturer is seeking a customer-focused Applications Engineer to support its sales team and clients across France, the EU, and the UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to work independently in France while being part of an international organisation.
With a home and field-based setup, the role involves regular client engagement across central and northern France, with occasional European and UK travel. Flexibility is required, with potential overnight stays (1-2 nights per week, non-fixed pattern).
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical expert for both new and existing customers, advising on product applications, installation best practices, and performance optimization.
- Provide on-site support for installation, troubleshooting, and product integration to ensure seamless application in customer processes.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team, offering technical insight to support business development and strengthen customer relationships.
- Be the first point of contact for technical, quality, and installation inquiries, ensuring efficient problem resolution and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct training sessions, demonstrations, and technical workshops for customers to enhance product understanding and correct usage.
- Liaise with engineering, R&D, and quality teams to relay customer feedback and contribute to product improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and technical innovations to provide expert-level guidance.
Candidate Requirements
- A background in mechanical engineering, applications engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in a mechanical-based solutions environment, with hands-on application and customer interaction.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a practical, hands-on approach to technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
- Comfortable working autonomously as the sole technical presence in France while staying connected to the wider organisation.
- Fluency in French and English is essential; additional European languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel across France, the EU, and the UK as required.
